Does it cost me anything to sign-up and book a service?

Not at all! Start searching for your perfect Provider immediately, no account needed. If you like what you see and want to hire someone, sign up for free and click hire. You only pay once the service is complete.

Who decides which Service Provider or Team completes my service?

Here at HappyTask you have the power. You know what type of person, price, and skill level you want. Search what service you need, when and where you want it, and we show you a list of all available Service Providers or Teams in your area. You can then review their marketing pages and choose who you feel is the best person for the job.

How do I pay for the work I ordered?

Payments are made through your HappyTask account via credit card or ACH transfers. You do not pay the Service Provider directly.

When will I be charged for the work performed?

Your default credit card will be billed the following day after the service is completed.

What if I am unhappy with the service being provided?

If it is your first time using a Service Provider or Team, we highly recommend monitoring their performance. In the rare occurrence the service doesn’t meet your standards, politely ask the Provider to perform the service the way you expected them too. If they still don’t improve, you can kindly dismiss them and the service duration will stop. Make sure you leave a review with your experience so we can work with that Service Provider or Team to help them perform better at their service.

How does my hired Service Provider or Team get paid?

You pay HappyTask, and we pay the Service Provider or Team shortly after.

Do Service Providers or Teams pay their necessary Employment Taxes?

Yes, Service Providers are independent contractors and are responsible for their own employment taxes. We issue Service Providers and the IRS a 1099-misc form at the end of the year.

What do you do with the information I provide when signing up?

Your private and personal information is securely encrypted. Any payment information is processed using an SSL encrypted, PCI-compliant system (these are the same standards required by the banking industry). Your information will never be sold, viewed, or used by any outside entity. In addition, we will not allow Governmental Agencies to access our data files unless they have a legal valid warrant, specifically detailing the person and information requested. Your privacy is one of our top priorities here at HappyTask.

How does HappyTask make money?

HappyTask facilitates the marketing, connection, work order processing, time tracking, and payment processing between the Client and Service Provider of each transaction. Due to this, HappyTask receives a percentage fee of each service, which is paid from the total paid amount of the work order. You, the Client, will never see additional fees added to the hourly price quoted for that Service Provider’s services.

How does HappyTask know how long the Service Provider was working on my project?

Our app uses time-tracking and GPS software to log start and end times, ensuring accurate billing.

Can I cancel my service after I book it?

Yes, as long as it is up to one hour before your scheduled service. Simply log into your account and select the work order you want to cancel from the Work Orders tab. Once in the opened work order, you will be able to cancel the day(s) as needed. You can also leave a message to the Service Provider or Team if you care to explain your reasoning for cancellation.

Who works for Whom?

As a Client you are an independent purchaser of services performed by an independent Service Provider or Team contracted on an hourly basis. Both parties are free to work together or part ways at any time during the service. The time clocked during the service will be charged and paid. HappyTask facilitates the marketing, booking, and payment process of this transaction for both independent parties.

How do I book a Service?

While on the website or app, go to the ‘Services’ tab and select a service you need. Enter your zip code, date, and time for the service, then click ‘Search’ to see the available providers in that area.

How many hours should I book?

Use your best judgment or use our platforms direct messaging to communicate with the Provider beforehand to get their opinion. Overbooking time blocks the Provider’s schedule off and may affect future bookings. You will only be charged for the actual time worked!

How do I request recurring service dates?

Coming soon on the Work Order Confirmation page you can click a ‘Add additional dates’ button to easily schedule recurring services.

What happens after I book a Service?

We will notify your Service Provider or Team that you placed an order and input the day(s) and times into their work calendar. You will also be sent reminders before your scheduled service. You may review your work orders anytime by logging into your account and choosing the ‘Work Orders’ tab. This is where you can message your Provider details or questions about the service, or cancel the service if needed.

When can I expect my Service Provider or Team to arrive?

Providers are encouraged to normally arrive 5 minutes early, or 10 minutes early if its their first time working with a Client. If they are running late they are expected to communicate that to you.

Are Service Providers or Teams insured?

Independent Service Providers or Teams are responsible for any work-related injuries to their persons while performing the service. Service Providers may purchase worker’s compensation insurance for themselves, but it is not required.

Are Background Checks conducted on Service Providers or Teams?

Yes, we conduct limited background checks using ClearChecks. Providers with felonies or sex crime violations are not allowed. Please refer to the “Terms of Use“ for additional details.

Will my payments be secure?

Your payments will be fully secure! HappyTask processes all financial transaction through industry-leading payment technology and services on Stripe, using a SSL encrypted, PCI-compliant system. This is the same technology banks use to secure your financial information.

What should I do if my Service Provider or Team is late or doesn’t show at all?

HappyTask Providers are generally responsible and professional, but life is unpredictable. We instruct our Providers to contact you immediately if they will be late or absent, allowing you to determine if you still need their services. If you are displeased with their communication efforts, we ask that you take the time to leave a review on their work order and mention their inability to be on time.

What should I do if my Service Provider or Team needs more time than I booked to complete the service?

If the Provider is available, they can stay to complete the job. Otherwise, you may need to book them for another day.

What should I do if something is damaged?

Inform the Provider immediately and take pictures. HappyTask can help mediate if a solution was not previously met, but Providers are responsible for damages. Regardless of outcome, we ask that you take the time to leave a review on their work order and mention their inability to perform the service without damaging property. The review information is monitored by HappyTask and will be looked into accordingly.

What should I do if something is missing?

Politely ask the Provider(s) about the missing item. If you suspect theft, contact the police immediately. Regardless of outcome, we ask that you take the time to leave a review on their work order and address the missing items.
